Constituida en 1984, por los grandes países importadores y exportadores de dicha fibra vegetal. Defiende su consumo contra la competencia de los sintéticos, para lo cual fomenta la investigación de las aplicaciones del yute natural. Administra el "Convenio Internacional del Yute", que entró en vigor provisionalmente en 1984 y, con carácter definitivo, en 1986. Su sede está en Dhaka, Bangladesh.
